From 21st April 2009, Internode have revised the Broadband Contract choices for new Internode ADSL services. When signing up to for Internode ADSL, customers can choose to pay the regular setup fees on a one month contract, or pay a discounted setup fee and enter a 24 month contract.
The choice is simple: a 24 month contract with a reduced setup charge, or the 'normal' setup charge and a rolling 1 month commitment.
Naturally, existing Internode ADSL services - those delivered or ordered prior to 21st April 2009 - are unaffected by these changes. As you would expect, we honour the contractual arrangements that were in place at the time that you ordered your service:
So the important point for customers with existing ADSL services is that nothing has changed.
The changes from 21st April 2009 relate only to the setup and early cancellation charges for new services ordered from that date. Read on if you wish to make changes to any existing services - the plan, speed, technology or location of your service. The costs and conditions of any such changes are detailed below; and these have not changed!
You have two options for establishing a new Internode ADSL service. These two options are available for all new Internode Easy Broadband, Easy Naked, Extreme ADSL2+, NakedExtreme ADSL2+, ADSL Standard, ADSL Plus and TwoPlus services.
There are no new sales of Internode Ultra, UltraLine or NakedUltra services, though existing customers remain fully supported. Historically, Ultra and UltraLine services were only available on a 24 month contract; while NakedUltra services were available on either a 1 month or 24 month contract. Further information for customers with these products is available here.
This option offers you a discounted setup fee with a 24 month contract term.
With this option, you pay a reduced setup charge for your service; but you are liable for an early cancellation charge if you cancel your service during the first 24 months:
After that time, no cancellation charge applies.
A $0 setup fee applies to:
A $79 setup fee applies to:
This option involves a $39, $49 or $129 setup fee to establish your Internode ADSL service.
There is no long term commitment - simply the one month that you have paid in advance - and no early cancellation charge applies. You can cancel your service at any time, and the cancellation becomes effective at the end of your current monthly billing period.
A $39 setup fee applies to:
A $49 setup fee applies to:
The $129 setup fee applies to:
With an Internode ADSL service - regardless of whether you are on a 24 month contract or not - you are not 'locked in' to a specific plan.
In fact, you are free to change your ADSL plan as often as you like, with no change to your remaining contract term.
These plan changes include :
| Description of Plan Change | Once-off Charge |
| Change your monthly download quota (e.g. from 10 GB to 25 GB per month) |
no charge |
| Change your plan type (e.g. from a 'Home' plan to a 'SOHO' plan at the same speed) |
no charge |
Internode ADSL Standard customers can choose from a range of fixed speeds - or upgrade to ADSL Plus or ADSL TwoPlus for high speed services - at any time during your contract, and as often as you like. Similarly, you can upgrade from ADSL Plus to ADSL TwoPlus at any time. Once again this does not change your remaining contract term.
Note that speed changes are not applicable to other ADSL types - Internode Easy Broadband, Easy Naked, Extreme ADSL2+ and NakedExtreme ADSL2+.
A once off charge applies to decreasing your speed:
| Description of Speed Change | Once-off Charge |
| Increase the speed of an ADSL Standard service | no charge |
| Upgrade from ADSL Standard to ADSL Plus or ADSL TwoPlus | no charge |
| Upgrade from ADSL Plus to ADSL TwoPlus | no charge |
| Decrease the speed of an ADSL Standard service | $20 |
| Downgrade from ADSL Plus to ADSL Standard | $20 |
| Downgrade from ADSL TwoPlus to ADSL Plus or ADSL Standard | $20 |
Technology changes occur when you change from one type of Internode broadband to another - for example from ADSL Standard to Extreme ADSL2+ via a Single Service Migration.
If you are on a contract, the early cancellation charge does not apply to your previous service with the following technology changes:
| Description of Technology Change | Once-off Charge With a New 24 Month Contract Term | Once-off Charge With No Change To Remaining Contract Term |
| Single Service Migration from ADSL Standard, ADSL Plus or ADSL TwoPlus to an Extreme ADSL2+ service | no charge | $49 |
| Change from ADSL Standard, ADSL Plus or ADSL TwoPlus to Easy Naked or NakedExtreme ADSL2+ |
$79 | $129 |
If you move to a new house or office location, you have a choice of contractual arrangements :
Providing the relocation is successful, no early cancellation charge will apply to your previous service.
You can even change Internode ADSL service type when you move - e.g. move from an ADSL Standard at your old place, to Extreme ADSL2+ at your new place - for no extra charge.
Please note that the billing method involves creating an early cancellation charge (if applicable) on the service at your current premises; and then crediting this amount when the service at your new premises becomes active.
This is because it's physically a cancellation process and a new service activation process - ADSL services don't actually 'relocate', you simply get a new service and your email & other account details are transferred across transparently by Internode.
Note that in some circumstances it may not be possible to relocate your Internode service to your new location - for example, if you are beyond the reach of the Internode broadband network.
In this situation, if you are within a 24 month contract and you cancel your current service, the early cancellation charge will apply.
In addition to your contract arrangement, as an Internode ADSL customer you agree to be bound by :
