NodeText Receiver provides a specific email address (in the format username@txt.on.net), and any email messages sent to this address are forwarded as a text message to on or more pre-defined destination mobile phone/s. Up to ten mobile phones can be assigned to each NodeText Receiver account.

How It Works

Once you've signed up to the service, any email message with your account - username@txt.on.net - in either the To, CC or BCC fields of the email message, will be sent to your mobile phone.

Internode employ advanced spam filtering systems on NodeText Receiver email accounts, however no anti-spam system is 100% effective. Since you will be charged for every text message that we send to your phone - even if it is triggered by a spam email - we highly recommend that the details of your NodeText Receiver email account are not posted on web sites or distributed indiscriminately.

Format of the Message

The text message is obtained from the first 160 characters of the Sender of the email message, concatenated with the Subject of the email message plus the Body of the email message.

Ideally the email message should be in 'plain text' format email, rather than HTML, however any HTML will be processed as far as possible to create a legible message. Any content after a standard email signature (signified by '--') will be stripped, white space will be minimised, and certain special characters cannot be sent via SMS. We automatically truncate any message to 160 characters - this to avoid excessive charging if a very long email message has been sent.

Plans and Pricing

Customers are charged for establishment of the service ($50 once-off) and then billed monthly, according to the number of SMS messages sent and their selected usage plan:

Changing the authentication parameters, alias numbers or pre-approved destination numbers after the initial order involves a once-off $25 configuration charge.
