What is Easy Broadband?

Easy Broadband is Internode's most popular range of broadband plans. Key features of the current generation of Easy Broadband plans include:

• A range of monthly quotas: from 30 GB per month, right up to 1,200 GB per month - the 'more than a Terabyte' plan!
• An Internode direct broadband connection - specifically, an Internode DSLAM port. This provides ADSL2+ with Annex M capability on suitable lines.

A optional monthly bundling discount of $20 is available with the current Easy Broadband plans, if the telephone service associated with the ADSL is an Internode NodeLine service.

The new 'Business Pack' option makes Easy Broadband the ideal business broadband solution!

How does Easy Broadband with a Business Pack compare to Business ADSL?

We've designed Easy Broadband with the Business Pack option to deliver greater value than our previous Business ADSL plans. In particular, Easy Broadband with a Business Pack supersedes the Business Extreme plans, which are no longer available for sale.

These are the key differences between Internode Easy Broadband with a Business Pack and previous Internode Business ADSL plans:

• Quota is much larger at the same price points. And with the Business Pack, it's still free uploads - quota is counted in the download direction only.
• Single location only. Easy Broadband plans are designed to allow one concurrent router login on one specific physical line (you can of course have multiple users sharing this connection). A financial penalty of $1 per hour per additional login may be applied in the case of concurrent logins on different physical lines.
• Optional IP Subnet. A /29 IP subnet is available upon request, and at no extra charge. Previously, this was a $20 per month option on Business ADSL plans.

Importantly, static IP addressing; priority support; Annex M profiles (enabling higher upload speeds); and unshaped excess continue to be delivered on Easy Broadband with a Business pack.

What if I go over my quota?

You can check how much quota you've used by logging into My Internode from the Internode homepage using your Internode username and password. Once you've logged in, click on "ADSL Usage & Stats" in the "My Services" column.

If you go over your monthly quota on an Easy Broadband plan with the Business Pack option, excess charges apply at a rate of 0.5 cents per megabyte downloaded. Your service is not 'excess shaped' by Internode at any stage.

These excess charges are capped to a maximum of $299 per month. Please note that Data Blocks are not available with the Business Pack option.

What about other Business ADSL plan features?

Everything else about the Easy Broadband plan with a Business Pack is the same as - or better than - Internode's previous Business Extreme plans:

• No Shaping & Capped Excess - Business Pack services are never shaped by Internode, regardless of your download volumes. Compare the quota deal for Internode Easy Broadband with Business Pack:
  • Just $5 per GB excess: if your monthly download quota is exceeded then the excess downloads are charged at only $5 per Gigabyte (calculated at 0.5 cents per Megabyte). This 'excess traffic charge' is capped to a maximum of $299 per month.
  • Uploads don't consume quota: the Business Pack means these plans are download counted only.
  • 'Anytime' quota: you can use the Internet whenever you like. Internode quota isn't parcelled into 'friendly' & 'unfriendly' hours of usage.
  • Unmetered Content: including over 100 online streaming radio stations; the extensive games.on.net server farms for low ping gaming; massive mirrors for common file downloads; ABC iView and fetchtv online content - and more.
• Your Choice of Contract - Choose from discounted setup on a 24 month contract with an early cancellation charge; or pay the full setup fee and have no early cancellation charges - it's your choice.
• Priority Business Support - The Business Pack includes priority access to our award-winning, local customer support team, and is backed by our Service Level Agreement with defined performance and availability targets.
• ADSL2+ Annex M - Depending on your line conditions, Annex M can increase the upload speed of your ADSL, enabling high performance virtual private network connections.
• Static IP Address - A static IP address makes these plans suitable for hosting servers and operating Internet Virtual Private Networks. An additional /29 IP subnet is available on request and at no extra charge.
• Email Accounts - Up to 5 free email accounts can be established, all with email spam and virus filtering & webmail access and more.
• Free Subdomain - Choose your own subdomain name under 'on.net' (on request and subject to approval by Internode) and link it to your own server.
• Dialup Account - Includes a dialup account, for when you're away from your broadband connection, with 10 included hours per month then $1/hour pay-as-you-go. Dialup access is available Australia-wide at local call rates.
• Global Roaming - We offer a global roaming facility for dialup, Wi-Fi and hotel Ethernet access across the world via iPass (separate usage charges apply).
• NodePhone Ready - Add NodePhone Voice over IP (VoIP) and save money on phone calls.
• Choose your Hardware - Bring your own ADSL router, or buy one pre-configured from us.

A good rule of thumb when trying to figure out whether Easy Broadband with a Business Pack supports a given feature of an Internode Business Extreme plan is: if it isn't mentioned as being different… it's the same!

Can I Get Easy Broadband?

All new Easy Broadband services (from 10th August 2010) are being deployed on Internode ADSL2+ DSLAM ports; and only where that DSLAM has sufficient backhaul capacity. You can check for the availability of new Easy Broadband services in your area by entering your phone number in our Online Coverage Checker.

New Easy Broadband services will be delivered if there is a suitable Internode DSLAM with free ports in your local exchange, and you have a direct copper path - within acceptable transmission limits - to it. This is an ADSL2+ connection, with the 'Annex M' profile available for faster uploads. Note however that the default profile continues to be 'high stability' - please refer to this page on the options for changing from the default profile once your service has been established.

A description of the factors that affect your actual speed is available on this page, as well as a graph that provides an indication of theoretical maximum speed at various line lengths.

The minimum speed of an Internode Easy Broadband service is 1500/256 kbps. Internode does not guarantee that customers who select the Easy Broadband plan will be able to obtain the maximum theoretical speeds.

Are there any coverage limitations?

All Internode Easy Broadband plans are available wherever you can get a direct copper path connection to an Internode DSLAM within acceptable transmission loss limits, with the following specific exceptions:

• St Johns & South Launceston in Tasmania
• Geelong in Victoria
• Coonalpyn, Maitland, Meningie, Minlaton, Mount Barker, Mount Gambier, Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Tailem Bend, Tintinara, Whyalla & Whyalla Jenkins in South Australia

These exchanges do not currently offer the Easy Broadband 600 or 1200 GB plans, due to backhaul limitations.

Please note that this is a dynamic list and at times we may reach a point where we can no longer support extremely high quota plans such as 600 or 1200 GB in a given area. If we reach that point, we may automatically migrate existing Easy Broadband services to a lower quota (and lower the ongoing price accordingly). If you disagree with this change, you may request the cancellation of your service with no early termination charge being applied.

Can I Have a 'Naked' Easy Plan?

Yes you can! A complimentary range of Internode Easy Naked plans are also available.

Is there a change to my existing Internode contract term if I move to Easy Broadband?

No - if you are already connected to an Internode DSLAM (for example you are currently on an Internode Business Extreme plan), then it is simply an online plan change to Easy Broadband. You can change plans to Easy Broadband without any once-off charges; and without any effect on your existing contract term with Internode.
