Annex M

Internode provides Australia's first 'Annex M' capabilities, on all SOHO NakedExtreme and Extreme® ADSL2+ services. Annex M increases the maximum potential upload speed on an ADSL2+ service from 1 Mbps to 2.5 Mbps, enabling high performance Internet Virtual Private Networks from your office.

As with all ADSL2+ bandwidths, the maximum upload that you will achieve is dependent on your ADSL modem/router, the distance and the quality of your copper access line, and the professional installation of a central splitter. You can read more about it here.

Limitations

• IP address assignments are from Internode address ranges and are retained by Internode on termination of service.
• Static IP allocations may be modified by Internode to address technical requirements at 14 days notice.
• All SOHO ADSL plans support one single standard login (with associated static IP) and up to 4 additional logins (with dynamic IP addresses).
• Conditions may change - If service conditions are changed in the future, customers will be permitted to cease using the service without penalty if the new conditions are not accepted
• Definitions (in accordance with Australian ISP conventions):
  • 1 MB or 1 Mbyte is 1 Megabyte = 1,000,000 bytes.
  • 1 GB or 1 Gbyte is 1 Gigabyte - 1 Gigabyte is equal to 1,000 Megabytes.

ADSL Account Application Notes

When you apply for SOHO ADSL, you should be aware of certain obligations and conditions once the order form is received by Internode.

Please be aware that when you sign the application form you are signing to say that you accept and agree to be bound by the Internode Standard Form of Agreement, ADSL Service Specifications and (if applicable) Naked ADSL Service Schedule - these documents are available here. Please call us if you would like any help interpreting these documents.

The Internode ADSL Contract

When you signup for Internode ADSL, you can either:

• have a reduced setup fee, with an early cancellation charge ($120 in the first year, $65 in the second year) if you cancel within the first 24 months; or
• pay the full setup fee, and have a rolling one month contract with no early cancellation charges.

Automatic ADSL Service Cancellations

Please be aware that your Internode ADSL Standard, ADSL Plus, ADSL TwoPlus or Extreme® ADSL2+ service will be automatically cancelled by Telstra and a new ADSL service will need to be ordered by you (including a new $129 Activation fee) in the following circumstances:

• If your telephone account is cancelled.
• If you order an ADSL-incompatible product on the telephone line the ADSL is delivered on.

We strongly advise that you contact our Sales department to discuss any pending changes to your phone service prior to making those changes. These issues do not affect NakedUltra and NakedExtreme ADSL2+ services.

ADSL Relocations

If you plan to move premises - even if you are taking the same number with you - you'll need to use our online relocation process. This ensures a smooth transition, and gives you the choice of:

• no ADSL relocation fee, and a new 24 month contract; or
• a $99 relocation fee, with any existing contract term carried across to your new premises.

Billing & Notifications

Tax invoices, Internode Bulletins and automated data usage warning messages are sent to your Internode email address. Please refer to the configuration sheet (supplied when your service is activated) for details of your Internode email address. You can automatically forward these emails to a preferred email account if required, via our online Email Management system.

As per the Internode Standard Form of Agreement, payment is required in advance. You will be required to pay the setup fee and any equipment costs (if applicable) and the first monthly fee upon provisioning of your service. Billing will begun within 7 days of the service being provisioned by our carrier, or earlier if you have registered a sucessful login.

Broadband services are non-refundable, however no charges apply until the service is confirmed as deliverable by our carrier.

Posting of paper invoices is available but discouraged for environmental reasons, and if requested will attract a $1.50 surcharge per invoice. Surcharges also apply to payments made by credit card - full details on this and our other payment options are available here.

ADSL Routers

• The ADSL modem or router that you use on an Internode SOHO ADSL service will affect the maximum possible speed as follows:
  • ADSL2+ Annex M Modem/Router - 24000/2500 kbps
  • ADSL2+ Annex A Modem/Router - 24000/1000 kbps
  • ADSL2 Modem/Router - 12000/1000 kbps
  • ADSL1 Modem/Router - 8000/1000 kbps (many older ADSL modems and routers are ADSL1 only)
• All routers sold by Internode are ADSL2+ capable - further details are available here.

Extreme® ADSL2+ Plans

• The maximum possible speed of an Extreme® ADSL2+ service will depend on a number of factors. These include the length and quality of the phone line that links your premises to your local telephone exchange, and the type of ADSL modem or router that you are using.
• A description of these factors is available on this page, as well as a graph that provides an indication of of theoretical maximum speed at various line lengths.
• The minimum speed of an Extreme® ADSL2+ service is 1500/256 kbps. Internode does not guarantee that customers who select Extreme® ADSL2+ will be able to obtain the maximum speed of 24000/2500 kbps.

NakedExtreme ADSL2+ Plans

• The maximum possible speed of a NakedExtreme ADSL2+ service will depend on a number of factors, as listed above for Extreme ADSL+ plans. A description of these factors is available on this page, as well as a graph that provides an indication of of theoretical maximum speed at various line lengths.
• No distance limits apply to NakedExtreme ADSL2+. At extremely long distances, the ADSL connection speed is significantly reduced.
• A minimum speed is not specified for NakedExtreme ADSL2+. Internode does not guarantee that customers who select NakedExtreme ADSL2+ will be able to obtain the maximum speed of 24000/2500 kbps.

NakedUltra ADSL2+ Plans

• The maximum possible speed of a NakedUltra ADSL2+ service will depend on a number of factors. These include the length and quality of the copper pair that links your premises to your local telephone exchange, and the type of ADSL modem or router that you are using.
• A description of these factors is available on this page, as well as a graph that provides an indication of theoretical maximum speed at various line lengths. When reviewing this graph please note the maximum speed possible on NakedUltra ADSL2+ is 20 Mbps - the 24 Mbps maximum speed is only available on Extreme® ADSL2+.
• A minimum speed is not specified for NakedUltra ADSL2+. Internode does not guarantee that customers who select NakedUltra ADSL2+ will be able to obtain the maximum theoretical speed of 20000/820 kbps.

ADSL Plus and ADSL TwoPlus

• The maximum possible speed of a Home ADSL Plus plan is 8000/384 kbps. The minimum speed of a Home ADSL Plus service is 1500/256 kbps. Internode does not guarantee that customers who select Home ADSL Plus plans will be able to obtain the maximum speed of 8000/384 kbps.
• The maximum possible speed of a Home ADSL TwoPlus plan is 20,000/1000 kbps. The minimum speed of a Home ADSL TwoPlus service is 1500/256 kbps. Internode does not guarantee that customers who select Home ADSL TwoPlus plans will be able to obtain the maximum speed of 20,000/1000 kbps.
• The actual service speed that you will receive is dependent on a number of factors, including the length and quality of the phone line that links your premises to your local telephone exchange. A description of these factors is available on this page.
