This service is a SIP Trunking solution, similar to the reliable NodePhone product, but specifically tuned for multiple number ranges and connectivity to IP-PBX's with the additional features of supporting 2 or more concurrent calls.
Customer configurable options include : Business Continuity, scalable concurrent calls, extension level billing reports, prime number setting. This service also includes at least one 100 number in-dial range.
Naturally a fair degree of technical expertise is required to interface SIP Trunk to an organisation's IP-PBX phone system, and this should be examined carefully before committing to NodePhone Business Trunk. A specific requirement for IP PBXs and IP voice interface equipment is certified interoperability with Broadsoft, or an acceptance from the customer that their equipment may not be supported (from a helpdesk/technical support perspective) by Internode. Each case will be assessed individually to determine the level of support that may be available for the given equipment.
A number of IP PBX systems are already successfully interfacing to NodePhone business trunks including Cisco Access Servers, UC500, Cisco Call Manager Express, and Asterisk. While these implementations are welcome, please note that Internode do not provide design, consultancy or ongoing support services for IP PBX systems.
An Internode Internet service with appropriately dimensioned bandwidth allows the NodePhone platform to automatically prioritise voice traffic, to ensure you always sound your best.
Some features of NodePhone Business Trunk include:
Most business customers will require the services of a trusted, competent voice/data systems integrator to achieve an optimal outcome. In general Internode do not provide these 'on-site' integration services, we recomend the following integrators:
Subnet - Specialising in Cisco
Geek.On.Net - Specialising in Asterisk
vtalk® - customised solution
Mac Centre Norwood - Specialising in UC500
Knowledge Plus - Cisco Unified Communications 500 and Cisco Call Manager Express specialist
Voice and data communications are mission-critical to the majority of businesses these days, and you need to carefully select a systems integration partner based on trust, competence and experience.
Dimensioning of the broadband connection is also an aspect requiring careful attention, and some generic recommendations are a minimum service of 1500/256 kbps for two concurrent calls; and 512/512 kbps for five concurrent calls (ie in general, around 100 kbps per concurrent call or channel). Internode also provides Corporate Internet services in bandwidths ranging from 2 Mbps to 1000 Mbps, for larger organisations.
Finally, 'Quality of Service' prioritisation of your outbound traffic is also a key success requirement for broadband telephony. Note that the NodePhone platform automatically prioritises voice traffic from the Internode network; your equipment needs to do the same for voice traffic into the network.
