In essence this is the same reliable NodePhone product, with the additional facility of supporting more than the default '2' concurrent calls included in a standard NodePhone service. No additional numbering is provided as part of this service, just the ability to place or receive more than the standard two concurrent calls.
Naturally a fair degree of technical expertise is required to interface Voice-over-IP to a business phone system such as a PBX, and this should be examined carefully before committing to NodePhone MultiLine. A specific requirement for IP PBXs and IP voice interface equipment is certified interoperability with Broadsoft, or an acceptance from the customer that their equipment may not be supported (from a helpdesk/technical support perspective) by Internode. Each case will be assessed individually to determine the level of support that may be available for the given equipment.
A number of IP PBX systems are already successfully interfacing to NodePhone. While these implementations are welcome, please note that Internode do not provide design, consultancy or ongoing support services for IP PBX systems.
Most business customers will require the services of a trusted, competent voice/data systems integrator to achieve an optimal outcome. In general Internode do not provide these 'on-site' integration services, and we have a policy of not recommending specific integrators or having 'preferred partners' in this space. Voice and data communications are mission-critical to the majority of businesses these days, and you need to carefully select a systems integration partner based on trust, competence and experience.
Dimensioning of the broadband connection is also an aspect requiring careful attention, and some generic recommendations are a minimum service of 512/128 kbps for one concurrent call; 1500/256 kbps for two concurrent calls; and 512/512 kbps for four concurrent calls. Internode also provide Corporate Internet services in bandwidths ranging from 2 Mbps to 1000 Mbps, for larger organisations.
Finally, 'Quality of Service' prioritisation of your outbound traffic is also a key success requirement for broadband telephony. Note that the NodePhone platform automatically prioritises voice traffic from the Internode network; your equipment needs to do the same for voice traffic into the network.
NodePhone MultiLine has exactly the same feature set and call charge rates as the standard NodePhone products. The only difference is the ability to support additional concurrent calls. In conjunction with a standard NodePhone account, each NodePhone MultiLine service has a $20 configuration change fee and $10 per month rental per additional channel of call capacity beyond the default two.
NodePhone MultiLine is nationally available:
A number of customers with legacy analog PBX systems have successfully used multiple Analog Telephone Adapters to connect multiple analog PBX lines to NodePhone. In this case Internode will provide support for OPEN Networks 812L Analog Telephone Adapters if used as part of this configuration, however this does not extend to trouble-shooting issues relating to the PBX system itself.
In this scenario you will need to sign up for additional NodePhone services for each Analog Telephone Adapter, since these devices support a maximum of two channels. Note also that the OPEN Networks 812L Analog Telephone Adapter does not support two simultaneous inbound calls from a single NodePhone account.
The additional channels of the MultiLine option can be ordered as part of the standard NodePhone online signup process for existing Internode broadband customers, or via the PDF order form for non-Internode customers. These options are available here.
If you already have a NodePhone service, simply request MultiLine additional channels through the NodePhone Toolbox - available here.
