From October 6th 2009 a range of new broadband plans has been launched by Internode. We're passing on to customers the benefits of the PIPE PPC-1 fibre-optic link, which goes live this Thursday.
PPC-1, an undersea cable that links Sydney with the western Pacific island of Guam, delivers a significant increase in Australia’s international data interconnection, thereby reducing data transfer costs. From Guam, Internode uses other cable systems to link through to the USA and beyond.
New customers can just jump right in on these great new plans. Existing customers can also benefit - read on to find out how!
The quota boost for Internode Easy Broadband is automatic - you don't need to do anything. On your next rollover date, you'll enjoy an extra 20 Gbytes per month going forward. There's no change in price, and you don't need to take any action - it's all easy!
If you already have an Internode ADSL service, you have two choices:
You can plan change by logging in to My Internode with your username and password; and click on the Change ADSL Plan link under 'Account Management'. Then you simply request your new speed (or leave it unchanged), and select the new plan that you require - it's simple!
Plan changes take effect from your next monthly rollover date. Please note:
Essentially, because they are no longer popular! And most people would agree our plan table needed a bit of pruning.
In particular, speeds like 512/512 kbps have become increasingly irrelevant, with the widespread availability and better performance of ADSL2+. Similarly, SOHO and Business plans offering high quota and low speed just aren't required any more.
100 Gbyte plans on the popular Extreme and NakedExtreme services continue to be available - and at a lower price than before. And in line with requests from business customers, we've also introduced very high quota Business plans on ADSL2+ - these are now available with up to 200 Gbytes per month.
Because we believe in freedom of choice. If you do nothing, then we'll continue to deliver you exactly what you have now, and that's fair. We're introducing many new plans - far too many for us to guess what you'd like!
We don't know if your specific circumstances mean that you're perfectly served by your current plan, or if you'd like to change to a higher quota plan, or a higher speed plan with the same quota, or a lower price plan. So the decision is entirely in your hands.
The exception is Easy Broadband - there's just one Easy Broadband plan there, so it's straightforward to simply increase the monthly quota. We're not expecting too many objections to an extra 20 GB at no additional cost!
There's a handful of special cases to be aware of:
So if you're not on one of these plans or Easy Broadband, remember you will have to use the online planchanger to take advantage of the new offers. Alternatively, if you're happy with your current plan, you don't need to do anything.
The Ultra product family - including NakedUltra and UltraLine - are now 'end of sale'. That simply means we are not currently accepting any orders for new services. Existing customers remain fully supported and these plans have not changed.
The end of sales for Ultra products is a major step in simplifying our plan set. Our focus is on our customers - and the majority of our customers want the new NodeLine and Easy Broadband services, with strong growth continuing in the Extreme, NakedExtreme and TwoPlus range.
If you currently have a NakedUltra, UltraLine or Ultra service, there's no need to do anything. All features are still available, none of the pricing has changed, and we continue to support all existing services. And you can still request plan changes for these products, through the online planchanger tool. More information for customers with Ultra services is available here.
