Easy Broadband is Internode's most popular range of broadband plans. Key features of the current generation of Easy Broadband plans include:
An optional monthly bundling discount of $20 is available with the current Easy Broadband plans, if the telephone service associated with the ADSL is an Internode NodeLine service.
We've designed Easy Broadband to deliver greater value than our previous Home ADSL plans. In particular, Easy Broadband supersedes the Home Extreme plans, which are no longer available for sale.
These are the key differences between Internode Easy Broadband and previous Internode Home ADSL plans:
You can check how much quota you've used by logging into My Internode from the Internode homepage using your Internode username and password. Once you've logged in, click on "ADSL Usage & Stats" in the "My Services" column.
If you go over your monthly quota on a current Easy Broadband plan - or on a previous 'T-Shirt' plan (size XS, S, M, L, XL or XXL) - your connection is slowed to 256 kbps for the rest of your month.
There are no excess quota fees. However if desired, you can purchase a Data Block to top up your monthly quota on demand.
Select the Power Pack option if you prefer even faster excess shaping of 512 kbps download (with the option of Data Blocks); or select the Business Pack options if you prefer excess usage charges with no shaping (Data Blocks are not available with this option).
Everything else about the Easy Broadband plan is the same as Internode's previous Home Extreme plans:
A good rule of thumb when trying to figure out whether Easy Broadband supports a given feature of an Internode Home Extreme plan is: if it isn't mentioned as being different... it's the same!
Internet enthusiasts and business customers have slightly different requirements of their broadband service; and these are addressed via the Power Pack and Business Pack options.
Please note that you can only choose one (or neither) of these options - a service cannot have both types of Option Packs at the same time.
Internet enthusiasts - who may have previously selected a SOHO Extreme plan - can simply add a Power Pack option to their Easy Broadband plan. The Power pack option is $10 per month, and adds the following features:
You can request your subdomain name via a support request. Please note that existing Internode SOHO ADSL customers that are plan changing to Easy Broadband with a Power Pack can retain their '.soho.on.net' subdomain if they would prefer (in fact, both subdomains will work).
The needs of business customers are addressed by adding a Business Pack option to the Easy plan. The Business pack option is $30 per month, and adds the following features:
You can request your subdomain name or IP subnet via a support request. Please note that existing Internode Business ADSL customers that are plan changing to Easy Broadband with a Business Pack will retain their current '.on.net' subdomain and any associated IP subnet.
All new Easy Broadband services (from 10th August 2010) are being deployed on Internode ADSL2+ DSLAM ports, and only where that DSLAM has sufficient backhaul capacity. You can check for the availability of new Easy Broadband services in your area by entering your phone number or address into our Online Coverage Checker.
New Easy Broadband services will be delivered if there is a suitable Internode DSLAM with free ports in your local exchange, and you have a direct copper path - within acceptable transmission limits - to it. This is an ADSL2+ connection, with the 'Annex M' profile available for faster uploads. Note however that the default profile continues to be 'high stability' - please refer to this page on the options for changing from the default profile once your service has been established.
A description of the factors that affect your actual speed is available on this page, as well as a graph that provides an indication of theoretical maximum speed at various line lengths.
The minimum speed of an Internode Easy Broadband service is 1500/256 kbps. Internode does not guarantee that customers who select the Easy Broadband plan will be able to obtain the maximum theoretical speeds.
All Internode Easy Broadband plans are available wherever you can get a direct copper path connection to an Internode DSLAM within acceptable transmission loss limits, with the following specific exceptions:
These exchanges do not currently offer the Easy Broadband 600 or 1200 GB plans, due to backhaul limitations.
Please note that this is a dynamic list and at times we may reach a point where we can no longer support extremely high quota plans such as 600 or 1200 GB in a given area. If we reach that point, we may automatically migrate existing Easy Broadband services to a lower quota plan (and lower the ongoing price accordingly). If you disagree with this change, you may request the cancellation of your service with no early termination charge being applied.
Yes you can! A complimentary range of Internode Easy Naked plans are also available.
Please refer to our payments page for information on how you can pay Internode.
No. If you are already connected to an Internode DSLAM (for example you are currently on an Internode Extreme plan, or an earlier Easy Broadband plan via an Internode DSLAM), then it is simply an online plan change to Easy Broadband. You can change plans to Easy Broadband without any once-off charges, and without any effect on your existing contract term with Internode.
At Internode, we're constantly working on improving our products. Here's a history of how Internode Easy Broadband has developed over time.
Easy Broadband was launched on 9th July 2009, with a price of $49.95 per month and 30 GB of monthly quota. Services were installed on Internode ADSL2+ DSLAM ports where available; and Telstra 1500/256 kbps DSLAM ports otherwise.
The wider availability of ADSL2+ speeds, along with the bundling discounts, were introduced on 28th April 2010. New signups to Easy Broadband then had a monthly price of $59.95, with a $10 per month 'bundling discount' reducing this to $49.95 if the associated telephone service is an Internode NodeLine service. The same 50 GB monthly quota is included, and the excess shaping speed increased from 64 kbps to 128 kbps. The speed for new signups changed to:
The next change occurred on 10th August 2010. This simply restricted any new connections to Easy Broadband to Internode ADSL2+ Annex M DSLAM ports only - no new services will be created using Telstra ports. No other changes occurred to the product, and existing services are not affected by this change.
On 14th September 2010, an exciting range of new Easy Broadband 'T-Shirt' plans were made available - ranging from 150 GB up to a massive 1 Terabyte per month! And on 30th November 2010, the entry level 'XS' 30 GB plan was added to the range.
On 8th February 2011, the Power Pack and Business Pack options were made available on all current Easy Broadband plans.
On 18th March 2011, the condition of an automatic plan change of an existing associated NodeLine service to a HomePlus or BizPlus plan was removed. This had been introduced with the launch of the 'T-Shirt' plans on 14th September 2010.
On 5th July 2011, the Easy Broadband 'T-Shirt' plans were replaced with a simplified range - 30 GB, 200 GB, 300 GB and 1,000 GB. The charge for plan changes to lower priced plans was also removed on this day; and this charge no longer applies to either the current or the previous 'T-Shirt' Easy Broadband plans.
Most recently, on 1st March 2012, new Easy Broadband plans were introduced with quota points of 30 GB (unchanged), 60 GB (new option), 300 GB (reduced in price by $10), 600 GB (new option), and 'even more than a Terabyte' 1,200 GB.
