Easy Naked is Internode's popular range of naked ADSL plans. Key features of the current generation of Easy Naked plans include:
Naked ADSL services are delivered over a copper pair, but without the need for you to rent a telephone service. As well as saving you money, this also means that in many cases ADSL can be delivered at a greater distance from the local exchange.
Many of the new Easy Naked plans - excluding the Easy Naked 150 Special - are bundled with a NodePhone VoIP service, which includes $10 call credit every month.
This means that if you have an eligible Easy Naked plan, you can select a NodePhone2-Special plan - with $10 of included calls at no additional charge!
Read on for how to take advantage of this new offer:
Naturally you can select any other NodePhone plan if desired, or use another VoIP service (the $10 credit only applies to NodePhone2-Special of course!), or not use VoIP at all - it's your choice!
The new Easy Naked 150 Special plan offers outstanding value and is available at selected locations across the Internode broadband network.
Unlike other current Easy Naked plans, the Easy Naked 150 Special is not eligible for NodePhone2-Special; and requires a 24 month contract commitment from existing customers.
The maximum possible speed of an Easy Naked service will depend on a number of factors. These include whether you are connected via an Internode DSLAM or an Optus Wholesale DSLAM, the length and quality of the copper pair that links your premises to your local telephone exchange, and the type of ADSL modem or router that you are using.
A description of these factors is available on this page, as well as a graph that provides an indication of theoretical maximum speed at various line lengths.
When referring to this information please note:
The ADSL modem or router that you use on an Easy Naked service will affect the maximum possible speed - and ADSL2+ capable modem/router is required for the higher speeds. Many older modem/routers are capable of ADSL1 only, and these will be limited to a maximum theoretical download speed of 8 Mbps. All routers sold by Internode are ADSL2+ capable - further details are available here.
Internode does not guarantee that customers who select the Easy Naked plans will be able to obtain the maximum theoretical speeds. Furthermore, there is no guaranteed minimum line synchronisation speed or data transfer rate - upload or download - on this service.
We've designed Easy Naked to deliver greater value than our previous Home Naked ADSL plans. In particular, Easy Naked supersedes the Home Naked ADSL (NakedExtreme and NakedUltra) plans, which are no longer available for sale.
These are the key differences between Internode Easy Naked and previous Internode Home Naked ADSL plans:
Yes, in certain circumstances. Specifically, we offer 'number porting' of qualified Telstra-based phone numbers into NodePhone VoIP when 'Convert Active Telephone Service' to an Easy Naked service is chosen during the signup process, and where the service will be delivered via an Internode DSLAM.
Easy Naked services that will be delivered via an Optus Wholesale DSLAM cannot port their phone number to NodePhone at this time.
You can check how much quota you've used by logging into My Internode from the Internode homepage using your Internode username and password. Once you've logged in, click on "ADSL Usage & Stats" in the "My Services" column.
If you go over your monthly quota on a current Easy Naked plan - or on a previous 'T-Shirt' plan (size S, M, L, XL or XXL) - your connection is slowed to 256 kbps for the rest of your month.
There are no excess quota fees. However if desired, you can purchase a Data Block to top up your monthly quota on demand.
Select the Power Pack option if you prefer even faster excess shaping of 512 kbps download (with the option of Data Blocks); or select the Business Pack options if you prefer excess usage charges with no shaping (Data Blocks are not available with this option).
Everything else about the Easy Naked plan is the same as Internode's previous Home Naked ADSL plans:
A good rule of thumb when trying to figure out whether Easy Naked supports a given feature of a previous Internode Home Naked ADSL plan is: if it isn't mentioned as being different... it's the same!
Internet enthusiasts and business customers have slightly different requirements of their broadband service; and these are addressed via the Power Pack and Business Pack options.
Please note that you can only choose one (or neither) of these options - a service cannot have both types of Option Packs at the same time.
Internet enthusiasts - who may have previously selected a SOHO NakedExtreme or SOHO NakedUltra plan - can simply add a Power Pack option to their Easy Bundle plan. The Power pack option is $10 per month, and adds the following features:
You can request your subdomain name via a support request. Please note that existing Internode SOHO ADSL customers that are plan changing to Easy Naked with a Power Pack can retain their '.soho.on.net' subdomain if they would prefer (in fact, both subdomains will work).
The needs of business customers are addressed by adding a Business Pack option to the Easy plan. The Business pack option is $30 per month, and adds the following features:
You can request your subdomain name or IP subnet via a support request. Please note that existing Internode Business ADSL customers that are plan changing to Easy Naked with a Business Pack will retain their current '.on.net' subdomain and any associated IP subnet.
Easy Naked plans are delivered via either an Internode DSLAM port or an Optus DSLAM port. Note however that the 150, 600 and 1200 GB Easy Naked plans are delivered via an Internode DSLAM port only, and only where that DSLAM has sufficient backhaul capacity.
Easy Naked services will be delivered if there is a suitable DSLAM with free ports in your local exchange, and there is a direct copper path - within acceptable transmission limits - to it.
Internode Easy Naked plans are available wherever you can get a direct copper path connection to an Internode or Optus DSLAM, with the following specific exceptions:
These exchanges do not currently offer the Easy Naked 150, 600 or 1200 GB plans, due to backhaul limitations.
Furthermore, Internode DSLAM in the following exchanges do not offer Easy Naked plans at all:
Easy Naked services are not available in the above areas due to the high cost of unbundled local loop in these regions.
Please note that this is a dynamic list and at times we may reach a point where we can no longer support very high quota plans in a given area. If we reach that point, we may automatically migrate existing Easy Naked services to a lower quota plan (and lower the ongoing price accordingly). If you disagree with this change, you may request the cancellation of your service with no early termination charge being applied.
Yes you can! A complimentary range of Easy Broadband and Easy Bundle plans are also available.
Please refer to our payments page for information on how you can pay Internode.
If you are already have an Internode Naked ADSL service (including NakedExtreme via an Internode DSLAM or NakedUltra via an Optus Wholesale DSLAM), then it is simply an online plan change to Easy Naked.
Please note however that changing plans to the new Easy Naked 150 Special plan requires a 24 month contract commitment from existing Internode Naked ADSL customers.
Internode Easy Naked services delivered via an Internode DSLAM have online access to the full range of ADSL line profiles, in order to optimise their connection if required.
Easy Naked services delivered via an Optus Wholesale DSLAM can request to be changed to the following line profiles:
A line profile change may assist in troubleshooting:
Simply submit a support request by clicking here; or call 13 NODE (13 6633) and select Technical Support (option 1).
At Internode, we're constantly working on improving our products. Here's a history of how Internode Easy Naked has developed over time.
Easy Naked was launched on 5th November 2009, with a price of $69.95 per month and 50 GB of monthly quota. Services were installed on Internode DSLAM ports only.
On 6th July 2010 a number of product changes were implemented:
Easy Naked quickly became Internode's bestselling product!
On 14th September 2010, an exciting range of new Easy Naked plans were made available - ranging from 150 GB up to a massive 1 Terabyte per month!
On 8th February 2011, the Power Pack and Business Pack options were made available on all current Easy Naked plans.
On 5th July 2011, the Easy Naked 'T-Shirt' plans were replaced with a simplified range - 30 GB, 200 GB, 300 GB and 1,000 GB. A NodePhone VoIP service - including a $10 monthly call credit - was also bundled with these new plans. The charge for plan changes to lower priced plans was also removed on this day, and this charge no longer applies to either the current or the previous 'T-Shirt' Easy Naked plans.
On 1st March 2012, new Easy Naked plans were introduced with quota points of 30 GB (unchanged), 60 GB (new option), 300 GB (reduced in price by $10), 600 GB (new option), and 'even more than a Terabyte' 1,200 GB.
Most recently, on 1st May 2012 the Easy Naked 150 Special plan was introduced.
