Simply order Easy Naked via New Service Connection, with a $79 setup fee on a 24 month contract, or a $129 setup fee if you prefer a monthly contract. The typical timeframe from when you place your order to the cutover activity occurring is two to three weeks.
There are three important points to understand with this type of service installation:
This will depend on whether you are in a residential single dwelling unit (such as a house); a multiple dwelling unit (such as a flat); or a business premise.
The most common network boundary point in a house is the 'first socket'. When Easy Naked is installed, your existing phone socket may be upgraded from a single point to a double point. Alternatively the Easy Naked service may be installed on an existing phone socket that is not currently being used; or it may be installed on to an entirely new socket. It depends on what is available at your specific premises, and is entirely at the discretion of the installation technician.
Some houses and units have an external telecommunications cabinet, often referred to as a 'Luka box'. While this is not defined as a network boundary point, you are responsible for the internal cabling from this cabinet to your phone socket.
Multi-dwelling units such as larger apartment buildings and unit complexes often have a centralised telecommunications cabinet or room - this is the Main Distribution Frame (MDF). Whenever this is the case, your network boundary point - the point to which we can deliver your service - is the MDF.
We'll send you details on where your service is connected at the MDF on your completion notification. Your cabler may need this information to correctly connect your service, so keep it handy.
In a business premises, the Easy Naked service will generally be installed to the building's Main Distribution Frame (MDF), which is the network boundary point.
You will then need to arrange for it to be cabled to the point where you require the service. As with most telecommunications services within business premises, such building cabling activity is entirely your responsibility and your expense.
Please appreciate that we incur wholesale rental charges from the moment that your service is connected to your network boundary point. Billing starts from your first login, or within seven days (whichever occurs first).
This seven days is your window to complete any cabling that is required beyond the network boundary point. After seven days, we'll commence billing for your service regardless of whether you have arranged the cabling or not.
If this all sounds too difficult, then we recommend Converting an Active Telephone Service to Easy Naked. There's no site visit or additional cabling associated with conversions - it simply uses the cabling that's already carrying the phone service.
During the signup process, we will ask you for a suitable date and time (morning or afternoon), when you can be available at the premises to allow access for the installation technician.
Sometimes a site visit will not be required, as an existing 'in-place' copper pair may be suitable for us to utilise. This can only be determined after we have commenced processing your order.
Hence it is very important that you read all text and email messages that we send to you after the signup. These messages will contain further information regarding the installation activity, including if and when you will need to be available at the premises.
On occasion the installation technician may miss an appointment due to circumstances outside of our control - we'll do what we can to minimise any inconvenience to you.
It isn't possible to determine this until you place an order. We'll then perform a detailed service qualification as part of the provisioning process, to check for the availability of a suitable spare copper pair.
No problems - the order will proceed and the installation usually occurs within two to four weeks.
No problems - we'll let you know and your options are:
If you don't have a telephone service to convert, an option is for you to arrange for the connection of an 'ADSL Essential / NPGDSL' phone service such as NodeLine, and then convert that to Easy Naked. Please be aware this approach does not guarantee that you will be able to receive Easy Naked; and Internode is not responsible for any phone line charges that you may incur.
