What is NodePhone® ?

NodePhone is a next generation voice-over-IP service that enables you to call and communicate with friends, colleagues and others - whether those people are also using NodePhone, or using a conventional telephone service.

NodePhone adds new capabilities to your existing phone handsets, and provides access to very attractive 'Internet era', distance-independent call rates. It delivers call quality that is as good, if not better than, conventional phone services - at a low, fixed-cost rate to all standard landline services Australia-wide. It also provides excellent mobile and international calling rates!

You can seamlessly switch between NodePhone and your traditional phone service. In fact, NodePhone automatically uses your old standard voice phone line for calls not handled by NodePhone, or for any time when NodePhone may be unavailable. Incoming calls on your conventional phone line continue to work as normal.

Connecting with NodePhone is easy

The NodePhone service can be accessed via any broadband Internet service speed of 512 kbps download / 128 kbps upload or greater; although for the best quality an Internode broadband service is recommended.

If you don't currently have an ADSL router, Internode can supply you with an all-in-one ADSL router which has Voice over IP capability - the Billion 7401VGP-M. Simply plug your existing telephone or cordless into the modem and you're ready to go.

If you already have an ADSL router, we can provide you with an analogue telephone adapter to make you NodePhone capable. It's called the OPEN Networks 812L analog telephone adaptor. Again, just plug in your existing phone or cordless base station, and you're ready to go.
