Setting up an Internode NodeLine Home Service

If you already have a home phone service : Transfer Free (normally $39)

Most home phone services can be transferred to NodeLine Home as a simple 'churn' - these are currently free, for a limited time.

If you don't already have a phone service : from $59 to $299

This cost will vary with your specific situation:

• $59 for a simple 'in-place' connection, where a working phone socket exists from a previous connection and no site visit is required. This is about 80% of all orders.
• $125 if a site visit is required to simply reconnect existing cabling at a phone socket (this is fairly rare).
• $299 if a telephone service has not previously been connected at your premises - even if cabling is already in place - or whenever a technician is required to install and/or work on the cabling between your premises and the local exchange. This is about 20% of all orders.

Additional charges apply for cabling beyond the first socket or main distribution frame, trenching or complex installations. Further details on setting up a new NodeLine service are available on the Transfer page.

Early Cancellation Charge

If you cancel your NodeLine service within the first 3 months an early cancellation charge of $99 applies to recover adminstrative costs. This charge is waived if you are converting the NodeLine service to an Internode Naked ADSL service.

In addition, a separate early cancellation charge applies is if you have 'ported' your number into NodeLine from a non-Telstra network. This is fairly uncommon - most numbers are already on the Telstra network, and hence can simply be 'churned'. You might not know if transferring your existing phone service to NodeLine is a 'port' or a 'churn' - so don't worry about it.

• In the (fairly rare) case that you have requested an existing phone service be transferred to NodeLine and it turns out to be a 'port' rather than a simple 'churn', we'll contact you. Presently we are not processing 'ports' into NodeLine, so you'll be advised, and your order will be cancelled without any cost or penalty to you.
• Previously we processed a number of 'ports' into NodeLine. For these services only, an early cancellation charge of $250 is applicable for the first 12 months. You will never have to pay both cancellation charges - if the 'port' cancellation charge applies; then the '3 month' cancellation charge will not apply. Monthly Rental Charges

The monthly rental of a NodeLine Home Value service is $29.95.

Options available for your NodeLine Home service include:

• Voicemail : $6 per month (or part thereof)
• Caller ID Presentation : $6 per month (or part thereof)

There is also a range of useful features included with every NodeLine Home service, with no additional monthly charge. If you use these features - for example Call Back Busy - then a small usage charge (35 cents in this case) applies. Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions page for more details.

If you pre-select your long distance calls to another carrier, a surcharge of $5 per month is applied to your NodeLine Home service.

Call Charges

Call charges on NodeLine Home are very competitive : 18 cent untimed local calls, 15 cents per minute for long distance (no flagfall), 29 cents per minute to a mobile (no flagfall either). Even international is as low as 15 cents per minute (15 cent flagfall) to most popular destinations.

Timed calls - national, international and calls to mobiles - are charged to the nearest second, with a one minute minimum charge. Full details are available on the Call Rates page.

Miscellaneous Charges

• Relocations - relocation of a NodeLine service is charged exactly the same as setting up a new NodeLine service.
• Change of Number - changing the number of your NodeLine service has a $39 once-off charge.
• Change of Lessee - changing the NodeLine account holder (the 'lessee') has a $59 once-off charge. This will be waived if you're simply changing your name (eg due to marriage or deed poll); or in certain extenuating situations such as if the original lessee has passed away.
• Existing Features- if you transfer a phone service to NodeLine Home and it has existing chargeable features, we will onbill those charges to you. This includes (but is not limited to):
  • Handset Rental - we strongly recommend that you cancel any rental handset arrangements with your current provider prior to transferring to NodeLine. Otherwise, we will onbill the rental charge - which varies between $3.00 and $8.00 per month, depending on the handset model. Rental handsets from your previous provider cannot be returned to Internode.
  • Call Forward Selected Callers - $2.20 per month.
  • Call Forward Set The Time - $3.30 per month.
  • Delayed Hotline - $3.30 per month.
  • Smart Ring - $4.40 per month.
  • Never Busy Fax - $5.50 per month.
  • Remote Access - $2.20 per month.
  • Call Control - $3.30 per month.
  • Abbreviated Dialling - from $1.76 to $3.30 per month, depending on the plan.
  • Additional Number - Fax - $6.00 per month.
  • Additional Number - Phone - $6.00 per month.

Total Minimum Price

A minimum three month contract term applies to NodeLine, with an early cancellation charge during this initial three month period.

• Please note that the early cancellation charge is waived if you are converting the NodeLine service to an Internode Naked ADSL service.

The Total Minimum Price of a NodeLine Home service is $89.85. This figure represents three months of rental at $29.95 per month. Call charges are additional and setup fees may apply.

Equipment Requirements

You may only access the service using equipment approved by the Australian Communications & Media Authority. A standard telephone handset is required to use your NodeLine phone service.

Your Agreement with Internode

When you apply for Internode NodeLine, you should be aware that you are entering an agreement with Internode.

When you sign up for a service you agree to the Internode Standard Form of Agreement and the Internode NodeLine Service Schedule. These are Internode's standard terms and conditions for the NodeLine service.

Important Information about NodeLine Home services

• Residential purposes only - NodeLine Home services are designed for normal residential applications. If you require a phone service for your business, please select NodeLine Business.
• Priority Assistance is not available - NodeLine does not support 'Priority Assistance', a facility that is available from some other phone service providers if there is a person with a life-threatening illness at the premises. Do not order a NodeLine service if you require Priority Assistance.
• No Access to 190 Premium Numbers - more a feature than a limitation, please be aware that 190 premium rate numbers cannot be called from a NodeLine service.
• We do not currently provide support for teletypewriter equipment.
• Any cabling that is required in your premises beyond the network boundary point is your cost and responsibility.

Billing & Notifications

Tax invoices, Internode Bulletins and other messages from Internode are sent to your Internode email address. Please refer to the configuration sheet (supplied when your service is activated) for details of your Internode email address. You can automatically forward these emails to a preferred email account if required, via our online Email Management system.

As per the Internode Standard Form of Agreement, payment is required in advance. You will be required to pay the setup fee and any equipment costs (if applicable) and the first monthly fee upon provisioning of your service. Billing will commence upon activation of the service.

NodeLine services are non-refundable, however no charges apply until the service is confirmed as deliverable by our carrier.

Posting of paper invoices is available but discouraged for environmental reasons, and if requested will attract a $1.50 surcharge per invoice. Surcharges also apply to payments made by credit card - full details on this and our other payment options are available here.
