NodeMobile uses the Optus Dual Band 3G Mobile Network. Mobile phone coverage on this network is available to 97% of the Australian population.
Please refer to the NodeMobile Coverage page for our online coverage tool and maps.
NodeMobile is a 'SIM only' service - in other words, 'BYO Handset' - however, you can mix and match any NodeMobile plan with any of our Samsung mobile handsets.
If you bring your own mobile phone handset, it must be compatible with the Optus Mobile Digital Network, and please note that Internode do not provide technical support services for your handset.
Your current mobile service provider may have 'locked' your handset to their particular network. To check if your handset is locked, please contact your current service provider.
NodeMobile is not suitable for Blackberry devices.
You may be able to make and receive calls and SMS, but Blackberry specific services such as Internet, Messenger and Email are not available.
A NodeMobile SIM is required in order to access the NodeMobile service - your existing SIM cannot be used.
Choose either a regular SIM, a MicroSIM or a NanoSIM; depending on what your device requires (check your phone's user guide if you're not sure). There's no difference in price.
Existing Internode customers with a fixed line service (including NodeLine, ADSL, Fibre to the Home and Fixed Wireless Broadband) can order a NodeMobile service by either:
NodeMobile is currently only available to existing Internode fixed line customers.
In most cases we'll send you your SIM via registered post (a $5 delivery charge applies).
However, if convenient, you can choose to collect your SIM from Internode House, 150 Grenfell St, Adelaide.
For security purposes, your SIM is sent to you in an inactive state.
When you have received the SIM, you will need to contact us to activate the service (and if requested, port your current telephone number). This can be done either online or by calling us; instructions and further details are sent with the SIM.
You will need to activate your SIM within 30 days from the date that you placed your order.
Once your SIM is activated, simply insert the SIM into your mobile phone handset (obviously remove any existing SIM first!). Consult your mobile phone user guide if you are unsure of the procedure.
NodeMobile includes a VoiceMail service for when you're not available to take a call. Please refer to our VoiceMail FAQ page to get the most from this service.
SurePage is an alternative to VoiceMail, and features a professional personalised answering service and receipt of messages by SMS. The SurePage FAQ page has further information.
A no cost option for managing calls that you can't answer is to receive the caller's phone number as an SMS. The Missed Call Service FAQ page has the details.
Instructions for activating, deactivating and checking the status on your incoming call diversions are covered in the Diversions FAQ page.
Caller ID features - where you can see the number of the calling party (if presented); and the person you are calling can see your number - is enabled by default.
For further information on this feature, please refer to the Caller ID FAQ page.
International Roaming is a convenient facility that allows you to use your NodeMobile service overseas.
However this can be an expensive option, so make sure you read all of the information on our International Roaming page.
Tethering allows smart phones like the Apple iPhone to act as a modem for your computer or other device to access the Internet. Tethering capability is turned on by default for all NodeMobile services, so if you have a suitable handset you should be able to use this feature straight away.
Keep in mind that when tethering, all data used - even social networking - is counted as part of your monthly mobile data allowance. It's a good idea to keep an eye on how much you're downloading to avoid excessive charges!
NodeMobile is a post-paid service - the monthly rental charges are billed in advance, and any excess usage charges are billed in arrears.
Our Billing FAQ page is designed to answer the most common customer questions on this topic.
By default, Premium SMS & Content services are disabled on NodeMobile services - you can contact us to enable these types of services if desired. Premium Voice services are also available.
Please refer to our Premium Services FAQ page for details.
If you have difficulties with your NodeMobile phone service, you can contact Internode support for assistance.
We've also put together this Troubleshooting Guide for resolving common issues; as well information on Generic Handset Settings.
If you have lost your mobile phone or had it stolen, please call Internode on 1300 304 718 as soon as possible. This service is available 24x7.
We'll stop anyone else making calls from your phone or SIM. If you find your phone again, simply call us back up and we'll reactivate your service.
