Billion 7800NL Configuration
This guide is for configuring your hardware to work over an existing Internode ADSL service to access fetchtv Full. Below are instructions for configuring fetchtv to work using the Billion 7800NL modem/router.
Step 1
- Open your web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari if using a Mac)
- Remove everything from the address bar including the "http://" so the field is completely blank and type "192.168.1.254" and press the enter key.
- Log in to the modem with the username admin and password admin.
- Click on the Advanced Link on the left side of the page.
- Click the WAN Interface link on the left side of the page.
- Click the Add button in the middle of this page.

Step 2
- Ensure the VPI is set to 8 and the VCI is set to 34.
- The Link type is set to EoA.
- The Connection Mode is set to Default Mode - single service over one connection.
- The Encapsulation mode is set to LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING.
- The Service Category is set to UBR Without PCR.
- The IP QoS Scheduler Algorithm radio button is set to Strict Priority.
- Click the Apply button once complete

Step 3
- Click the WAN Service link on the left side of the page.
- Click The Add button on this screen.

Step 4
- Ensure the Interface drop down box is set to atm1/(0_8_34) and click the Next link.

Step 5
- Ensure Type is set to Bridging.
- Change the Description to say IPTV.
- IPv6 for this service can be left unticked.

Step 6
- A Summary page will appear.
- Click Apply on this page.

Step 7
- Click the LAN link on the left side of the page.
- Ensure IGMP Snooping is set to Enable.
- Ensure IGMP Snooping Mode is set to Standard Mode.
- Click the Apply button once complete.

Step 8
The following steps DO NOT have to be done if multicast flooding is not an issue. Test prior to setting the modem up with Interface Grouping.
- Click the Interface Grouping link on the left side of the page.
- Click the Add button on this page.

Step 9
- Set the Group Name to IPTV.
- Set the WAN Interface used in the grouping to IPTV/atm1.
- Under Available LAN Interfaces you will see the 4 ethernet ports labelled as P1,P2,P3,P4
- Select either P2,P3,P4 under Available LAN Interfaces depending on the port the fetchtv set top box is plugging into and move it under Grouped LAN Interfaces. NOTE: Ethernet Port 1 will not work.
- The picture shown is if the fetchtv set top box was plugged into port 3 on the modem.

- Once Complete click the Restart link on the bottom right of the page.
- Click Restart modem with current settings.
- You can now plug the fetchtv set top box into the port specified in the Grouped LAN Interfaces section.
