Although the "official" date for the new prices is November 23, Internode is ensuring that every new customer from today will gain the benefit of the reduced Fetch TV rental and purchase prices. Existing customers will automatically move to the new pricing.
Using a three-tuner, high-definition Set-Top Box, Internode's Fetch TV subscription service provides subscribers with Video-on-Demand movies and programming, time-shifted television viewing and a great range of new TV channels. As well as free-to-air TV channels, Fetch TV offers dozens of on-demand TV channels plus special channel packages for subscribers who want TV content from India, South Korea Singapore/Taiwan, Pakistan, China, and the Philippines. It also offers YouTube and Facebook access.
Internode has carved $10 from the monthly cost of its Fetch TV Full service, from $29.95 to just $19.95, while Fetch TV Lite has gone from $14.95 to just $9.95. Internode has also cut prices for customers who bring their own Fetch TV Set-Top Box, to $14.95 for Fetch TV Full and $4.95 for Fetch TV Lite. This adds up to substantial savings over the 24 month plans, with total minimum costs being $478.80 (a saving of $240) for Fetch TV Full, and $238.80 (a saving of $120) for Fetch TV Lite.
Also, Internode has lowered the purchase price of the Fetch TV Set-Top Box (STB) from $399 to $299.
Internode managing director Simon Hackett, who announced the new Fetch TV pricing on Whirlpool, said it would attract many more customers. "This new pricing means a number of cool things," he said.
"As well as a much lower cost, these new prices create a consistent $5 differential between the 'rent' and 'buy' paths for access to the Fetch TV Set-Top-Box. Because it now costs only $60 a year to rent the Fetch TV STB on a 24-month term, we expect the 'rental' path to remain the more popular choice."
Mr. Hackett said that although the new pricing was not yet on the Internode website, customers signing up for Fetch TV between today and the 'official' availability date of November 23 would benefit from the new prices. "Customers who sign up from now until the new pricing is loaded on the website will have their bills adjusted to bring them into line with the new pricing," he said.
"Existing Internode Fetch TV customers will also benefit from our new prices automatically, with the revised monthly charges appearing on their bills within the next few monthly billing cycles."
