The NodePhone Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service works with a wide range of VoIP-capable routers and handsets. A wide variety of compatible hardware is for sale from Internode.
To date, technical limitations have prevented ADSL2+ customers with a traditional landline phone service from easily converting to Naked ADSL2+. This is now no longer the case – from today, phone lines with broadband via a Spectrum-Sharing Service (SSS) can be converted to ‘naked’ broadband via Unconditioned Local Loop (ULL) without issue.
The new solution also lets customers retain their current landline phone number for use on the more cost-effective NodePhone VoIP platform. NodePhone effectively turns all Australia into a local call zone. Internode Easy Naked plans include $10 of NodePhone VoIP call credits every month.
As well as facilitating the switch to a more cost-effective phone solution for current Internode customers, the simple migration path to Internode Easy Naked is also available to people with a ‘spectrum shared’ ADSL2+ service from other providers. Internode Easy Naked prices start from $59.95* per month, including $10 per month in NodePhone call credits.
Internode product manager Jim Kellett said the easy migration path to Naked ADSL2+ removed a barrier for customers who wanted to get rid of separate phone line rental charges. "We’ve made it really simple," he said. "Customers will keep their existing phone number and broadband service, but will get far more bang for their buck in terms of phone call costs."
* Setup fees, terms and conditions apply. Minimum total cost including setup fee and first month charges from $188.95.
