All Internode broadband accounts include an email account. You may also create up to four additional email addresses at no extra charge.
Every Internode email account includes spam and virus filtering, secure email, and generous limits. Read on to learn more about Internode's email services:
Internode's email system scans incoming mail and determines a 'spam rating'. This spam rating is based on a variety of elements in the message. If the 'spam rating' is above a threshold level (which you can control), our spam system quarantines the message.
Quarantined messages will not arrive in your mailbox. Instead, they are 'held' by our system for 14 days.
You may view, deliver, or "allow" (deliver and add to a list of trusted senders) your held messages at any time. If not otherwise dealt with, our system will delete quarantined messages after 14 days.

- Read our Email Configuration FAQ to learn more about the Configuration tool
Internode have enabled virus filtering on all email accounts by default.
If anyone sends an email to your Internode email address, our systems will scan it for viruses. If our system detects a virus, it will not deliver the message to your mailbox.
If you're away on holiday - or otherwise unavailable - you can set an auto-responder to reply to your messages for you. The auto-responder is customisable, and will automatically respond to emails while you are away.
- Log in to Email Configuration to activate the Auto Responder
Internode strongly recommends that all customers use Secure Email for their Internode email accounts.
Secure Email is available on all Internode email accounts at no charge. Usually, email is not encrypted - your messages, username, and password are sent in plain text. This is like sending a private letter in a clear envelope, so anyone who wishes to read it can!
Internode secures your email by encrypting it with SSL - the same encryption system used for secure web pages. This means that nobody can read the information flowing between your email program and our mail servers.
Secure Email is particularly useful if you use public wireless hotspots or other potentially 'insecure' services.
- See our Secure Email Guide to set up your email program
Mailbox Manager allows you to create and remove extra email addresses for your personal use. Your broadband service includes one email address, and you may create up to four more at no extra charge.
Extra mailboxes are ideal for family members who need their own email accounts.
Each extra mailbox is protected by a username and password. For privacy, each mailbox also stores messages separately from your other accounts.
- Log in to Mailbox Manager to add or remove email accounts
Internode's email accounts include generous storage and transport limits.
Each Internode mailbox can store up to 15 Gigabyte of email. You can also send emails with attachments of up to 10 Megabytes in size.
One email account is included with all Internode broadband services. You may also create up to four extra mailboxes at any time for no extra charge.
