Email - Microsoft Outlook 2011
This guide is suitable for Microsoft Outlook 2011 on a Mac.
What we'll cover:
- Configuring an Internode email account for Outlook:mac 2011.
Step 1
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2011.
- NOTE: If this is the first time you have used Outlook 2011, you will be presented with a welcome screen. Select Add Account and skip ahead to Step 3.

Step 2
- Click on Tools at the top of the screen, then click Accounts…

Step 3
- You should see the following screen. Select E-mail Account to set up your Internode email.
- If you already have an email account set up, click the + symbol at the bottom-left of the window, and then select E-mail…

Step 4
- The email wizard will begin. In the E-mail address field, enter your Internode email address, for example: username@internode.on.net

- As you move to enter your Internode Password, the window will expand.
- In the User name field, type in your Internode username or mail account name. Do not include @internode.on.net
- Change the Type to IMAP.
- Set the Incoming server to mail.internode.on.net
- Select the check-box underneath for Use SSL to connect (recommended).
- Set the Outgoing server to mail.internode.on.net
- Select the check-box underneath for Override default port.
- Select the check-box underneath for Use SSL to connect (recommended).
- Change the number 25 (next to Outgoing server) to 465.
- Click Add Account.

Step 5
- The wizard will take you back to the Accounts page. You should see your account as in the image below:
- Outlook 2011 will have automatically entered the information you used to register Microsoft Office into the Full Name field. Check this and enter your given name or business name - this is how your name will appear when people receive email from you.
- Under Account description, create a description for the account, for example, My Internode Account. This helps you identify this account if you have more than one email address set up in Outlook 2011.
- Click More Options… at the bottom of the window.

Step 6
- Set Authentication to Use Incoming Server Info.
- Click OK to return to the Accounts window.

- Close the Accounts window with the Close button (small red circle at top-left of window).
Congratulations! Microsoft Outlook 2011 is now configured for use.
