Email configuration for Android (HTC)
This guide is suitable for Android (HTC) phones such as the Desire HD, or the HTC One X. Please note that Samsung Android phones have a different user interface.

While email setup is generally standardised across most Android phones, because Android is open-source software, the Mail client on your Android phone may appear completely different to the one shown in this guide.
This guide has been tested on the following Android phones:
- Desire HD (Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread)
- HTC One X (Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich)
Configuring an Internode email account on an Android phone
Step 1
- Open the Mail application.
- If this is the first time you have used your Mail application, you will be presented with an email setup wizard.
- If this is not the first time you have used your Mail application, select Menu then Add Account to start the wizard.
- The "Choose a mail provider" screen will appear. Select Other (POP3/IMAP) from the list.
NOTE:You can also get to this screen by going to your phone's Settings, then Accounts & Sync then Add, and finally Mail.

Step 2
- You will be prompted for your Internode email account details.
- In the Email Address field, enter your Internode email address, for example: [email protected].
- In the Password field, enter your Internode password.
- Click Next once you have entered your details.

Step 3
- The Incoming Settings page will appear.
- Set the Protocol to IMAP.
- Double-check your Email Address.
- Ensure your Username does not include @internode.on.net.
- Set the IMAP server to mail.internode.on.net.
- Set the Security type to SSL.
- Make sure the Server Port is 993.
- Once the settings are correct, click Next.

Step 4
- The Outgoing server settings page will appear.
- Make sure that Login required is selected.
- Ensure your Username does not include @internode.on.net.
- Set the SMTP server to mail.internode.on.net.
- Set the Security type to SSL.
- Make sure the Server port is 465.
- Once the settings are correct, click Next.

Step 5
- Set an Account Name for your email account - this will help you identify the account if you have more than one email service set up on your phone.
- Ensure your name or business name appears in the Your name field. This is how your name appears to others when they receive email from you.
- Once your settings are correct, click Finish setup to complete the wizard.

Congratulations! Your HTC Android phone is now configured for email.
