Setting up an Internode Fixed-Wireless Broadband Service

Please note that new connections to the Internode Fixed-Wireless Broadband network are not currently available. All existing customers remain fully supported.

Recent signups for Internode Fixed-Wireless Broadband had the choice of three contract options and four Easy Wireless plans. The setup fee and early cancellation charge depends upon the contract term you selected for your Fixed-Wireless Broadband service:

• Note 1 : The early cancellation charge on a 12 month contract is pro-rated from $300 in the first month of your contract, to $25 in the final month of your contract.
• Note 2 : The early cancellation charge on a 24 month contract is pro-rated from $600 in the first month of your contract, to $25 in the final month of your contract.

Standard Fixed-Wireless Broadband Installation

A standard Fixed-Wireless Broadband installation included:

• All standard Fixed-Wireless Broadband hardware - the radio equipment, up to 6 metre stayed mast, up to 20 metres Ethernet cabling;
• up to 2 hours of professional installation services;
• fully configured Billion 6404VGP VoIP Ethernet WiFi router; and
• establishment of the Easy Wireless broadband account.

If your premises required additional installation labour or equipment beyond the above specification, then we provided you with a detailed no-obligation quotation for these additional works during the site survey. A two year warranty applies to all components.

Easy Wireless Broadband Plan Changes

Your broadband requirements may change over time, so you're not locked in to a particular monthly quota.

• There are no once-off charges for changing Easy Wireless broadband plans. You can request plan changes at any time via our online plan changer.
• Please note that any changes requested will take effect at the start of your next billing period - remember you can use Data Blocks if you need an instant quota upgrade.
• This guide provides information to help estimate your monthly Internet usage requirements.

Total Minimum Price

The total minimum price depends on the setup option and plan that you selected, as shown in the following two tables. Please note that if you required a non-standard installation then your total costs may be higher.

1. Total Minimum Price - Monthly Contract

The following table shows the total minimum price on a monthly contract for each plan - ie the standard setup charge of $799, plus one month of broadband plan rental.

The following table shows the total minimum price on a 12 month contract for each plan over a 12 month period - ie the reduced standard setup charge of $499, plus 12 months of broadband plan rental.

Equipment Requirements

You require an Ethernet router or 'home gateway' to connect your Fixed-Wireless Broadband service.

• A fully configured Billion 6404VGP router is provided with the service, and features support for both WiFi and NodePhone VoIP.

Your Agreement with Internode

When you applied for Internode Fixed-Wireless Broadband, you entered an agreement with Internode. Signing up for the service means that you agreed to the Internode Standard Form of Agreement and Internode Fixed-Wireless Service Schedule. These are Internode's standard terms and conditions for the Fixed-Wireless Broadband service.

The Performance of Fixed-Wireless Broadband Services

Please note that the Fixed-Wireless Broadband network design does involve a degree of contention, and it is in the nature of radio links that throughput will vary with atmospheric conditions. Hence all stated bandwidths are theoretical maximum only, and - while we will make our best endeavours - these bandwidths cannot be 100% guaranteed.

• Fixed-Wireless Broadband services have maximum speed limits that are a function of wireless technology and wireless radio cell capacity, and in particular the peak speeds do not match those available on ADSL2+ services.

While there is a degree of inherent security in the newer Fixed-Wireless Broadband Access Points, it is always our recommendation to customers using wireless systems that it is your responsibility to protect (encrypt) your information if it is of a private, confidential or sensitive nature.

Important Information about Fixed-Wireless Broadband services

• Network boundary point - Any cabling that is required in your premises beyond the network boundary point (which is the Subscriber Data Adapter) is your cost and responsibility.
• No resale of bandwidth - Internode Broadband services provide access for personal and immediate family or business use only.
• Single location only - Internode Broadband services are designed to allow one concurrent router login on one specific physical connection (you can of course have multiple users sharing this connection). Logging in at a different physical location to the location associated with the connection may fail to work, or may incur an additional cost of $1 per connected hour.
• Dynamic IP address - A dynamic IP address is supplied by default. Select a Power Pack or a Business Pack option, if a static IP address is required. IPv6 addressing is also available if supported by your equipment - further information.
• The monthly quota allocation on Internode Fixed-Wireless Broadband services is counted as the sum of both uploads and downloads.Definitions (in accordance with Australian ISP conventions):
  • 1 MB or 1 Mbyte is 1 Megabyte = 1,000,000 bytes.
  • 1 GB or 1 Gbyte is 1 Gigabyte = 1,000 Megabytes.
  • Quota allocation is counted in the download direction only, if you select the Power Pack or Business Pack option.

Billing & Notifications

Tax invoices, Internode Bulletins and automated data usage warning messages are sent to your Internode email address. Please refer to the configuration sheet (supplied when your service is activated) for details of your Internode email address. You can automatically forward these emails to another email address if required, via our online Email Management system.

If you ordered hardware you were required to pay for it by credit card before it was sent to you. As per the Internode Standard Form of Agreement, payment for all recurring charges is required monthly in advance. This means that your first invoice will have the setup fee (if applicable) and the monthly plan fees for your service for the first 2 months. Billing commences within 7 days of the service being provisioned by our carrier, or earlier if you have registered a successful login.

No charges apply until the service is confirmed as deliverable by our carrier.

Posting of paper invoices is available but discouraged for environmental reasons, and if requested will attract a $1.50 surcharge per invoice. Surcharges also apply to payments made by credit card - full details on this and our other payment options are available here.
