Internode Turns on ADSL2+ Broadband in WA

16-04-2007

Internode ADSL2+ DSLAMsNational broadband company Internode has continued its national rollout of super-fast broadband by switching on ADSL2+ services at three telephone exchanges in Perth.

Internode's first three West Australian ADSL2+ services are located at Wellington, Pier and Subiaco. Internode is also in the process of implementing a fourth ADSL2+ service at the Bulwer exchange.

ADSL2+ broadband runs as fast as 24 megabits per second (depending on line quality and distance from the exchange) - 16 times faster than the first generation ADSL broadband service, which runs at 1.5 Mb/s.

Internode's new WA services extend the total number of Internode ADSL2+ exchanges nationally to 84. Internode already offers broadband services that run as fast as 24 megabits per second in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, SA and the ACT. Internode also provides enhanced ADSL services nationally, running as fast as 8 megabits per second.

Internode managing director Simon Hackett said ADSL2+ services would provide the company's Perth customers with access to a genuine broadband experience. "Customers nationally are using super-fast broadband for everything from Voice over IP telephone calls to online video," he said.

"With an ADSL2+ broadband, our national network provides our customers with Australia's premier online gaming platform."
