Revised agreement gives access to ADSL2+ and phone line rental services

Internode signs new deal with Telstra Wholesale

26-11-2008

Internode has signed a revised wholesale access agreement with Telstra that allows it to offer ADSL2+ broadband services through Telstra DSLAM-equipped exchanges nationally from next month.

The new deal also enables Internode to offer traditional voice line rental services using Telstra’s PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) lines.

Internode expects to make ADSL2+ services available through Telstra-enabled exchanges from December while national voice line services are scheduled for April 2009. Pricing and other details will be announced as each service is launched.

Internode currently offers ADSL2+ broadband services at more than 110 exchanges using its own DSLAM equipment and 350 exchanges through a wholesale agreement with Optus. The Telstra Wholesale contract adds to this by providing Internode with access to all Telstra ADSL2+ equipped areas - over 1400 exchanges nationwide.

Internode managing director Simon Hackett said the agreement substantially increased the reach of Internode-provided ADSL2+ services. "We hope customers who only have access to Telstra ADSL2+ ports will appreciate the option to move up to an Internode-provided ADSL2+ service at last," he said.

"We look forward to offering all our customers the option of a single Internode bill for their line rental, their phone calls and their broadband services from April 2009."
