Email Setup

  1. Enter Email Address
  2. Enter Email Account Password
  3. Select Incoming Mail Server Type (POP3, IMAP, etc)
  4. Enter Incoming Mail Server* Name
  5. Enter Outgoing Mail Server* Name
  6. APN: internet

* An example of a typical incoming and outgoing mail server name is mail.internode.on.net.

SMS Setup

  1. Locate SMSC / SMS Message Centre in (Text) Message Settings in Handset
  2. Enter +61411990001 and press Save / OK *
  3. Send SMS to Confirm

* Please ensure this is set as the Default Message Centre when or if prompted. Note that the Optus Mobile SMSC number is different to the Virgin Mobile SMSC number.

Please Note: the 'Initialisation String' contains no spaces
and needs to have the quotation marks ["] to be correct.

Most handset manufacturers now provide PC Software which allows a USB connection between your handset and your computer or laptop. Many handsets will automatically support tethering by following the instructions on-screen.
