At Internode, we're constantly working on improving our products. Here's a history of how Internode's Easy ADSL2+ plans have developed over time.
The History of Easy Broadband ADSL2+
2009
|
- Easy Broadband was launched on 9 July 2009, with a price of $49.95 per month and 30 GB of monthly quota. Services were installed on Internode ADSL2+ DSLAM ports where available, and Telstra 1500/256 kbps DSLAM ports otherwise.
- On 6 October 2009, all Easy Broadband services were automatically upgraded to 50 GB monthly quota, with no change in price. In order to introduce a bundling deal and wider availability of ADSL2+, all Easy Broadband services were renamed to 'Easy Broadband Classic' on 28 April 2010. This plan was 'grandfathered', meaning existing customers can remain on the plan, but no new services are permitted.
|
2010
|
- On 28 April 2010, a new Easy Broadband was launched with a price of $59.95, reducing to $49.95 if the associated telephone service was an Internode NodeLine service. This is the first time the bundle discount was introduced for Easy Broadband, at $10 per month. The same 50 GB monthly quota was included, and the over-quota shaping speed increased from 64 kbps to 128 kbps. The speed for new sign ups changed to:
- Internode ADSL2+ DSLAM port with Annex M, where available; or
- in 'Zone 1': a Telstra ADSL2+ ('OPEN2') DSLAM port where available, otherwise a Telstra high speed ADSL1 ('OPEN1') DSLAM port; or
- in 'Zone2' or 'Zone 3': a Telstra 1500/256 kbps DSLAM port.
- On 10 August 2010, Easy Broadband was restricted to Internode ADSL2+ Annex M DSLAM ports only. After this point, no new services were available on Telstra Wholesale ports. No other changes occurred, and existing services were not affected by this change.
- On 16 September 2010, the 'T-Shirt' plans were made available—ranging from 150 GB up to a massive 1 Terabyte per month!
- On 30 November 2010, the entry-level "XS" T-Shirt plan was added to the range.
|
2011
|
- On 8 February 2011, the Power Pack and Business Pack options were made available on all Easy Broadband plans.
- On 18 March 2011, the condition of an automatic plan change of an existing associated NodeLine service to a HomePlus or BizPlus plan was removed. This had been introduced with the launch of the 'T-Shirt' plans in September 2010.
- On 5 July 2011, the Easy Broadband 'T-Shirt' plans were replaced with a simplified range—30, 200, 300, and 1,000 GB. The charge for plan changes to lower priced plans was also removed, and this charge no longer applies to either the current or the previous 'T-Shirt' Easy Broadband plans.
