Setting up an Internode Reach Fibre Service

You have the options of:

  • A standard setup fee with a monthly contract.
There is no early cancellation charge. Your only commitment is the 'one month rolling contract' that is inherent in paying one month's rental in advance on your service; or
  • A discounted setup fee with a 24 month contract term.
If you cancel your service during the initial 24 month period, you are liable for an early cancellation charge. The maximum applicable charge is $120 in the first month of your contract.

The setup fee applies for both 'churns' of existing Fibre Access Broadband services from other service providers, or for setting up a new broadband service from scratch.

Comment

You will also need a basic telephone service in order to obtain the fibre broadband service. A suitable existing phone service over fibre can be churned to NodeLine with no setup charge.

A previous (inactive) phone service over fibre may be able to be reactivated for $59. However if the optical network termination device has not been installed, setup of a new NodeLine phone service is generally $99.

Monthly Contract $99 None This option provides complete flexibility with no long term contract commitment.
24 Month Contract $0 Pro-rata from $120 in the first month of your contract, to $5 in the final month of your contract This option offers a reduced setup fee, and a 24 month commitment with an early cancellation charge.

Early Cancellation Charge (24 month contract only)

If you select a 24 month contract term, and cancel your service during the initial 24 month period, you are liable for an early cancellation charge. The maximum applicable charge is $120 in the first month of your contract. This early cancellation charge reduces by $5 each month (or part thereof) left in the contract.

  • These charges cover the costs reasonably incurred by us when the contract commenced.
  • Cancelling your broadband service will also cancel any other Internode products you’ve purchased that are only available when bundled with broadband. If those products have their own contract, you are liable for their associated early cancellation charges.

Reach Fibre Plan Changes

Your broadband requirements may change over time, so you're not locked in to a particular broadband speed or monthly quota.

  • There are no once-off charges to change your plan, if all you need is a different monthly quota. A $25 charge applies to any plan change that involves a change to the speed of your Reach Fibre service.
  • You can request plan changes at any time via our online plan change tool, whether you are within a contract term or not. Your plan change will take effect at the start of your next billing period.
  • Remember you can use Data Blocks if you need an instant quota upgrade.
  • See our Typical Usage guide for help estimating your monthly Internet usage requirements.

The Broadband Bundling Discount

You can use another service provider for the telephone service associated with your Reach Fibre, and pay the standard monthly plan pricing.

However, Reach Fibre plans are eligible for a monthly bundling discount if the associated phone service is Internode's NodeLine Home Value. Transferring to NodeLine is easy - you retain your current phone number and keep using your phone in exactly the same way.

Your Agreement with Internode

When you apply for Internode Reach Fibre Access Broadband, you should be aware that you are entering an agreement with Internode.

When you sign up for a service you agree to the Internode Customer Relationship Agreement and Internode Reach FAB Service Description. These are Internode's standard terms and conditions for the Internode Reach Fibre Access Broadband service.

The Performance of Reach Fibre Services

When connected on a service with (for example) a 100 Mbps interface speed, you should not expect that everything that you download from the Internet will be received by you at 100 Mbps!

For more information, see our Reach Fibre performance page.

Important Information about Reach Fibre services

Reach Fibre Access Broadband is available in selected greenfields estates nationwide. As each new house is built in these developments, optical fibre infrastructure is connected to a cabinet containing an Optical Network Termination unit. From there, the broadband and telephone services need to be connected through to the 'smart cabling' system in the house, to the actual wall plates where you need the services delivered.

Please contact your builder or developer to confirm these activities are complete prior to ordering Internode Reach Fibre Access Broadband.

  • The cabling that is required in your premises beyond the optical network termination device is your cost and responsibility, as is the provision of a suitable 240V AC power outlet.
  • You will need to maintain a 'basic telephone service' at all times. If you cancel your telephone service, your broadband connection will also be cancelled. We recommend NodeLine as a suitable telephone service for this purpose. Decadic dial telephony devices are not supported on phone services delivered by this network.

Other Limitations

  • No resale of bandwidth
Internode Broadband services provide access for personal and immediate family or business use only.
  • Single location only
Internode Broadband services are designed to allow one concurrent router login on one specific physical connection (you can of course have multiple users sharing this connection). Logging in at a different physical location to the location associated with the connection may fail to work, or may incur an additional cost of $1 per connected hour.
  • Dynamic IP address
A dynamic IP address is supplied by default. If you need a static IP address, select a Power Pack or Business Pack. IPv6 addressing is also available if supported by your equipment.
  • Uploads + Downloads
The monthly quota allocation on Internode Reach Fibre services is counted as the sum of both uploads and downloads.
  • Definitions (in accordance with Australian ISP conventions):
    • 1 MB or 1 Mbyte is 1 Megabyte = 1,000,000 bytes.
    • 1 GB or 1 Gbyte is 1 Gigabyte = 1,000 Megabytes.

Billing & Notifications

Invoices, Internode Bulletins, and usage warnings are sent to your Internode email address or nominated billing address. When your service is activated, you'll receive a configuration sheet with the details of your Internode email address.

If you have ordered hardware you will be required to pay for it by credit card before it is sent to you. As per the Internode Customer Relationship Agreement, payment for all recurring charges is required monthly in advance. This means that your first invoice will have the setup fee (if applicable) and the monthly plan fees for your service for the first 2 months. Billing will begin within 7 days of the service being provisioned by our carrier, or earlier if you have registered a successful login.

No charges apply until the service is confirmed as deliverable by our carrier.

Posting of paper invoices is available, but discouraged for environmental reasons. If requested, this will attract a $1.50 surcharge per invoice. Surcharges also apply to credit card payments. Full details on surcharges and payment options are available on our Accounts and Billing pages.
